The Point

I began blogging, believing (hoping) that writing would assist me in ridding my psyche of its skeletons, my consciousness of its demons and my body of its excess weight and apathetic constitution.

While blogging has been cathartic to an extent, it's greatest resource - for me - has been the ability to focus soley on myself in ways that don't consciously happen in reality's third dimension.

So this is me ranting, raving, complaining, bitching, moaning, quipping, whining and verbally flaying. Sadly, my actual words of wisdom are few and far between, but keep your eyes open - they do pop up occasionally.

My writing aspiration still remains the same: to (eventually) become a better person as the result of my writing. I really DO see the silver lined clouds in the distance. The only problem with watching the horizon is that you can't always tell if the distance to the object in question is a matter of a ten minute's walk or a thousand mile trek.

I, personally, am hoping for a bit more of the former and a bit less of the latter. (Yes, that's probabably the aforementioned apathetic constitution talking. That lazy bitch.)

Oh... and one final thought... perhaps another aspiration really: I very much hope that by writing often, I can somehow... someday... become the kind of writer who may coax her readers to become willingly lost within her words. Reading is, among so many other things, very often an escape. I want to create places to which my readers will happily travel on a regular basis. If you're not reading me, read someone! There is no greater journey than where the flip of a page can take you.
